Panther Valley Senior Center
The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced the menu for the week of Dec. 27-31 is:
Monday: No meal
Tuesday: Pasta with meat sauce, Italian vegetables, tossed salad, pineapples or ham and cheese sandwich
Wednesday: Turkey with biscuit, parslied potatoes, mixed vegetables, fruit salad or shrimp Caesar salad
Thursday: Stuffed pepper, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, Jello
Friday: Center closed
The center also announced upcoming events:
Center closed Dec. 24.
Po-Keeno on Dec. 27 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Dec. 28 at 10:45 a.m.; Games on Dec. 29 at 10 a.m.; Early New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 30 at 10:30 a.m., center closed on Dec. 31.

Nesquehoning
Hometown Hero banners
The Nesquehoning Veterans Banner program is now open for 2022.
If you would like to purchase a banner, applications are available at the VFW Post Home at 300 E. Center St. Also, if you purchased a banner in 2019, renewal applications were mailed to the sponsor of the banner, and the retired banner may be picked up at the post home. The deadline to purchase a new banner or renewal is Jan. 2, 2022.

Tax collection
Terrance P. McCall, Lansford Borough tax collector, wants to remind all taxpayers that current year bills are due on or before Dec. 31. All borough, county and school (real estate and personal) are due. All tax bills are in the penalty. Please call the office (570-645-0270), if you need to know the amount owed.
