One person is dead as the result of a two-vehicle crash along Route 309 in Rush Township.

The crash occurred around 3 p.m. near the intersection with Quakake Road, involving a sport utility vehicle and a pickup truck. The fatality was in the sport utility vehicle.

State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.

Hometown fire police maintained traffic control at the scene reducing the four-lane highway to two lanes.
