Alfie Picone, owner of DiMaggio’s La Dolce Casa restaurant, 16 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, is doing his part to make the holidays brighter for the participants of Access Service’s L.I.F.E. Day Support program, and his customers are also pitching in.

Picone is hosting a free lunch for about 70 of the special needs children in the Access program who will be his guests of honor at a holiday bash.

Anyone who stopped at La Dolce Casa this month had the opportunity to also donate a dollar as part of his or her take out or restaurant dining, the proceeds which will be used for unfunded needs of the children.
