Letter to the editor: Don’t teach critical race theory

I believe we are truly blessed to be Americans. No, we are not perfect, but we’ve made huge strides in our short history to be a better, fairer nation, and continue to do so.

We are still a work in progress. That being said, we should never allow critical race theory to be taught in our schools.

Labeling our students as oppressors or oppressed by skin color only serves to divide and alienate the student population.

A school’s purpose should be to teach our students the proper education and skills needed to succeed in life. The students do not need or want socialist indoctrination whose goal is to tear us apart. When did indoctrination become part of the curriculum in some schools and why? The USA today is not a systemically racist country as the far left would have us believe. If it was, why would millions of so-called “people of color” trek hundreds of miles on an arduous and sometimes lethal journey, hoping for a chance to gain citizenship in this great country of ours, the last bastion of freedom in the world.

May God continue to bless the USA.
