Rush-Ryan Seniors
The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on Dec. 7 for their annual Christmas Party with 53 members in attendance. The event was held at Capriotti’s in McAdoo. The party was opened with the reading “What is Christmas?”
Favors with given out by Gloria Gerhard and Ruthann Feane. Special thanks to Gloria, Cindy, Jayne and Pat for helping to make the party a success and to other members who assisted with the decorations. Each member received a gift.
There are no further meetings in December, due to the Christmas holiday.
The next meetings will be held Jan. 11 and Jan. 25. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
The group wishes everyone a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy new year.
Calvary Lewistown
Pastors Ralph Saunders will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes are scheduled for 9:15 a.m.
There is no evening worship service this week.
The annual Christmas dinner and tree decorating will be held immediately following the morning worship service. Call 570-668-3359 to reserve a spot and to sign up for a covered dish.
Upcoming events include: Dec. 15, 7 p.m. prayer meeting; Dec. 18, 4 p.m. Christmas caroling with refreshment after; Dec. 19, at 10:25 a.m. Sunday school Christmas program and 6:30 p.m. Christmas candle lighting service.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Dec. 2 at the Coaldale Complex with 28 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “It Happens in Your Heart.”
The next meeting will be held Dec. 16 at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend. If there is no school, there is no meeting.
American Primitive
Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m. at American Primitive Methodist Church. The service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua.
There will be no Sunday school until further notice.
Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St.

Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley.
Tamaqua Adult Day Care
The Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25 and Dec. 31. The center’s staff extends a Merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone.
The center will be closed whenever Tamaqua Area School District closes due to snow. When school has a delay, the center will contact clients by 6 a.m. if we decide to close for the day.
Our hairdresser will be available each Monday during the month of December. There will be many extra Christmas activities throughout the month.
