Carbon County commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday:
Reappointments
• Conservation District: Scott Mosier of Palmerton, farmer director; Merle B. Hunsicker of Lehighton, public director; and Wayne E. Nothstein, commissioner representative. Mosier and Hunsicker’s reappointments are four-year terms, while Nothstein’s is a one-year term.
• Hospital Authority: Scott Rehrig of Lehighton, five-year term.
• Industrial Development Authority: Ron Tirpak of Summit Hill, five-year term.
• Planning Commission: Dwight Eisenhower of Lehighton and Dennis J. DeMara of Lehighton, four-year terms.
Other actions
• Approved the purchase of rock salt from American Rock Salt Company LLC of Mount Morris, New York at a cost of $85 a ton. Delivery price is based on a minimum of 22 tons.
• Approved a nonexclusive license agreement with Scott Lignore of Scott Lignore Carriage Rides of Albrightsville for use of the county parking lot for departures and arrivals of a horse-drawn carriage. The agreement is through the end of the month and cost $100.

• Employment separations: Michael R. McCuen of Albrightsville, corrections officer effective Nov. 17; and Thomas S. Radocha of Summit Hill, part-time corrections officer, effective Dec. 1.
• Retirement: Mary A. Watkins of Coaldale, corrections officer, effective Jan. 24.
• Resignations: Taylor M. Davis of Lansford, 911 operator, effective Nov. 23; Thomas J. Earley of Dunmore and Jerome W. Walsh of Wyoming, corrections assessors, corrections department, effective Oct. 21.
• Prison board appointments: Michael A. Moore of Lehighton, corrections officer, effective Nov. 29; Anthony J. Pompa of Jim Thorpe and Bridgett K. Thornton of Bowmanstown, corrections officers, both effective Dec. 6.
• Date of hire correction: Douglas P. Budziak of Nesquehoning, part-time corrections officer/Teamsters, effective Dec. 6.
• Changes of status: O’Neil O. Chambers of Albrightsville, from corrections officer to acting sergeant, effective Nov. 29; Samuel T. Hellen of Palmerton, from administrator, PCWDA to executive director, WOIA, effective Dec. 24; Heather N. Brown of Lehighton, from administrator trainee, PCWDA to administrator, effective Dec. 24.
