The menu at the Jim Thorpe/Penn-Kidder Senior Center for the week of Dec. 6-Dec. 10 is as follows:
Monday: No meal
Tuesday: mushroom soup, bacon cheeseburger, potato wedges, tropical fruit, or shrimp Caesar salad
Wednesday: shrimp Alfredo over rigatoni, broccoli, orange, or barbecue chicken salad
Thursday: pork chop with apple butter, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, roll, cookie, or Reuben sandwich
Friday: meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, yogurt with fruit, or turkey Cobb salad
The center has also announced upcoming events for Dec. 6-Dec 10.
Bingo on Dec. 6 at noon. Exercise classes, Dec. 6, Dec. 8 and Dec. 10 at 9 a.m.; line dancing classes, Dec. 6, and Dec. 10 at 10 a.m.; Pool, cornhole, cards, games, puzzles and socialization available every day.
Dec. 7, The Tech-Owl program from Temple University will be conducting a technical program at the Lehighton Senior Center. The program focuses on personal electronic devices (smartphones, tablets, personal computers, etc.) and will offer tips on tricks on their effective use.
Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. we will have a speaker from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging to discuss the Shared Housing program that is coming soon to Carbon County.
