• The West End Festival of Lights will be held daily through at least Dec. 23. The walk-through light display is open daily from 2-9 p.m. weekends and 5-9 p.m. weekdays. On Dec. 17, 18 and 19 there will be craft vendors, food vendors, horse and buggy rides, visits with Saint Nick and entertainment. The Carbon County Fair will host its Kris Kringle Fest on Dec. 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12 at the fairgrounds. There will be small rides, a train and bounce house for children, craft and food vendors, games, entertainment and hot chocolate.

• Tamaqua Spirit of Christmas Festival, Dec. 3-5. Highlights include: The lighting of Depot Square Park on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. followed by a meet and greet with Santa Claus; tree lighting at Depot Square Park on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m.; craft vendors, food, luminaria night and entertainment.

• Santa is coming to the West End, courtesy of being hosted by the West End Park and Open Space Commission. See Santa arrive on a West End firetruck at 6 p.m. at the Chestnuthill Township Park, 221 Route 715, Brodheadsville, on Dec. 3. Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, a craft, and a visit with Santa through 8 p.m.

• Ross Township will host its Christmas tree lighting ceremony and visit with Santa on Dec. 4. Santa will arrive on a Blue Ridge firetruck at Ross Township Park, at 258 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg, at 4 p.m.. Come and enjoy a tree lighting, hot cocoa, cookies, a craft, and a visit with Santa at his stop there.

• Slatington tree lighting ceremony will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 3.

• Lights at the Lake will debut on Dec. 3 at Mauch Chunk Lake Park, 625 Lentz Trail. From that point, it will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Jan. 2 with the exception of Dec. 24, 25 and Jan. 1, which will be closed due to those dates being holidays. Tickets cost $20 per vehicle per each night, and can be purchased at www.lightsatthelake.com. Lights at the Lake will be a drive-thru light show that will feature brilliant holiday displays throughout picturesque Mauch Chunk Lake Park. Raising the House will run the holiday event on weekends from Dec. 3 until New Year’s weekend. It will also be available from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 23. The route is about a 1-mile long path at the lake and takes about 15-20 minutes to drive through, according to Tamara House, Raising the House board member.

• Jim Thorpe Old Time Christmas weekends will be held Dec. 4 and 5, 11 and 12, and 18 and 19. A tree lighting will be held Dec. 3 in Josiah White Park, with Santa’s arrival and entertainment to benefit local nonprofits. The tree lighting event will begin at 5 and continue until 6:30 p.m. Mayor Michael Sofranko will light the tree promptly at 6 p.m. Tentative activities for Old Time Christmas include children’s events, carolers, horse and buggy rides, choir boys, Dickens reading and a Christmas concert.

• Walnutport’s fifth annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held on Dec. 4 at the borough’s Recreation Center at 215 Lincoln Ave. A Candy Cane Hunt is at 3 p.m. The tree lighting will be held around 5 p.m.

• Weissport’s Christmas tree lighting will be held Dec. 4 in the Weissport Borough Park beginning at 6 p.m. There will be hot chocolate and Santa.

• The Jim Thorpe Krampus Festival will be Dec. 4.

• Christmas in the Palmerton Borough Park, sponsored by the Palmerton Holiday Lighting Committee, will be held this Saturday beginning at noon with the opening ceremony. The invocation will be by the UVO Color Guard. Remarks by Mayor William Gallagher. Over 25 food and craft vendors will be open. Events through the day include visits with Santa, entertainment, tree lighting and singalong. Rain date is Dec. 5.

• Parryville: Breakfast with Santa will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 5.

• Lehighton’s sixth annual Christmas trees in the Park event is Sunday. The Lehighton Fire Department will be bringing Santa to Lehighton by firetruck on Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. The tree lighting will be at 6 p.m. A full day is planned on Constitution Avenue including Food Trucks and baked goods.

• “Christmas on the Hill” in Summit Hill will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. The rain date is Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.

• The Fifth Annual Candy Cane Hunt will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Dec. 11 at Victory Park in Slatington.

• Parryville’s community tree lighting ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. Dec. 11.

• Hope Community Church in Weissport will hold a free Christmas dinner on Dec. 12 from noon to 2 p.m. at the church at 306 Bridge St.

• Polk Township 25th annual tree lighting is 4 p.m. Dec. 12.

• Penn Forest Township Volunteer Fire Co. no. 1 presents Santa on a firetruck on Dec. 18. Santa will deliver a wrapped gift to your child with Mrs. Claus and their friend the elf. Wrapped gifts may be dropped off at the firehouse on Dec. 1, Dec. 6 or Dec. 8 from 6-8 p.m. Call 570-657-6000 for more information.

• WinterFest 2022 is tentatively scheduled Feb. 19 and 20, with ice bars, ice carving and wood carving.
