A pedestrian escaped injury after her walker was struck by a vehicle Thursday night in Palmerton.
Borough police Chief Randy Smith said the incident occurred at 6:52 p.m. when Beverly Smale, 65, of Palmerton, was attempting to cross Delaware Avenue.
Smith said Smale was not in the crosswalk when a vehicle driven by James Bechtold, 45, of Lehighton, struck Smale’s walker.
“And when the car made contact, it pulled the walker away from her,” Smith said. “She fell to the ground.”
Smith said Smale complained of right arm pain, and was examined by Palmerton Ambulance.
He said Smale refused any further treatment, and she was not transported to a medical facility.
Smith said the vehicle had minor damage, and added that the driver did stop.
