• There were two special presentations at the Slatington Borough Council meeting recently.

A representative of A.F. Boyer Hardware and Guns presented a check for $650 to the Slatington Police Association. The check was received by Sgt. Deron Dorward on behalf of the police association. The store holds a raffle every year to raise money for the police association.

• Magisterial District Judge Thomas C. Creighton, on behalf of the Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania, presented Mayor Walter Niedermeyer with a certificate in honor of his 20 years of service as mayor of Slatington.

• A joint shredding event with state Rep. Zach Mako’s office will be held Oct. 1, 2022, at a cost to the borough of $300, which is one-half of total cost of $600.
