State police at the Frackville barracks are investigating the theft of between 1,500 and 2,000 feet of cable worth between $22,500 and $40,000 from Reading Anthracite Company in Cass Township.

Police said the theft occurred between Oct. 2 and 22 along Valley Road in the township.

Police said the cable is identified as industrial copper wire with rubber coating “bologna cable,” approximately 3 inches in diameter.
