Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Accepted the resignation of part-time officer Robert Lilly.

• Hired Jude Petrycia and Gregory Whisel for leaf collection at the rate of $11 an hour.

• Denied a use request from the PA Outdoor Veterans to utilize the borough park for a car/bike/truck show.

• Approved a use request from Colossal Radio to host a Carriage Ride with Santa on Dec. 21.

• On a 5-0 vote, granted the fire department permission to take two pieces of apparatus to the Carbon County Veterans Day Parade in Jim Thorpe on Nov. 7. Councilwoman Holly Hausman-Sell abstained.
