Once again, or should I say thrice again, the people of Jim Thorpe, plus others, have come through with their generosity.
On July 18, there was a basket raffle held at the Mauch Chunk Rod and Gun Club for a club member and beloved member of the community. Those who were involved made a silk purse from a sow’s ear. Due to the efforts of those involved, myself NOT included, money was raised to help someone who truly needed monetary support.
Then again on July 28 there was a drawing of tickets sold by the Carbon County Beer Distributor, et al., for the Highland Family due to a tragic fire. A sizable amount was raised due to the efforts of those involved.
Again on Aug. 29 there was a benefit event for the Highland Family and the Mauch Chunk Rod and Gun Club. Due to the efforts of many people and organizations, a good amount was raised for the family. In short, thank you people of Jim Thorpe and others who helped make all of these benefits worthwhile.
Thank you, Jim Thorpe!
