A Schuylkill County man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Friday afternoon.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at 4:10 p.m. along Route 443 in Washington Township.

Troopers said a 2022 Kia Sportage was driven eastbound when it struck an 88-year-old man from Saint Clair, with the front left side bumper, hood and windshield. The victim, who troopers did not identify, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers also did not identify the driver of the vehicle, who was not injured. The Kia had to be towed.

No other details were released by police.
