Schuylkill County Commissioners hired five people for the Children and Youth office Wednesday.

One fiscal technician and four county caseworkers will start in October. Jennifer Yerusavage was hired as a fiscal technician. Connor Andrucheck, Caitlin Holden, Heather Nelson and Richard Mallon were hired as county caseworker 1. All start dates are effective Oct. 18 except for Mallon, whose start date is Oct. 25.

It was noted that Wendy Shlanta, executive secretary in county administration, is retiring Oct. 1

Commissioners thanked her for her service.

“We wish her well. It is sad to see her go,” Commissioner Gary Hess said.
