September 16, 1978 - Dave Slonaker scores a pair of touchdowns and Panther Valley receives a strong effort from its defense as the Panthers gain a 25-6 victory over Lourdes. John Mikovich opens the scoring with a 27-yard field goal in the first quarter and Slonaker reaches the end zone on a 22-yard run. PV, coached by Trevor Lawrence, maintains its 10-0 advantage until the fourth. Ed Shubeck’s 38-yard pass to Greg Cutler sets up a Slonaker 6-yard tally. The Panthers add another TD late in the contest when Shubeck tosses a 17-yard strike to Tom Lutz. PV’s defense allows just 17 yards rushing as Tim Pisko and Greg Gogal each register 11 tackles.
