PPL is reporting more than 18,000 residents without power after a fast-moving thunderstorm swept through the region. Schuylkill County was the hardest hit in the region, with 9,000 customers out as of 11 p.m.
The outage includes: 6,418 in Rush Township, 310 in Ryan Township, 1,154 in Schuylkill Township, 19 in Walker Township, 3 in West Mahanoy Township and 377 in West Penn Township.
In Carbon County, 391 customers are out, including 346 in Lansford, 19 in East Penn Township, 4 in Nesquehoning and 22 in Parryville.
In Lehigh County, 346 are without power, with 315 in Washington Township and 31 in Heidelberg Township.
