Palmerton festival: Bingo tent to be held at new location

Bingo, a favorite activity at the Palmerton Community Festival, will be staged at a new location this year.

The bingo tent will be moved up toward the playground just off Third Street, according to Chairwoman Susie Arner.

“Longtime festivalgoers may remember this had been the bingo location a few years back, and we moved it there again to allow for a larger bingo tent that might have a few more seats, but definitely gives us the chance for better social distancing of bingo players,” Arner said. “Many people will look for it at (its) previous location; it has grown in nature.”

Arner added, “The bingo tent was moved from its original location to allow more folks to enjoy a chance to sit down relax and play a game or two of bingo.

“We had seen more people enjoying bingo in 2019, which led to a very crowded tent, and now with a larger tent in a new location, more people can sit comfortably. We will attempt to space the tables and chairs to accommodate social distancing as best as possible.”

Arner added that the more folks play bingo, the larger the payout will be on the games.

So, bring along those dabbers, fill out those cards, and be prepared to shout the word BINGO!
