Cross Country Roundup: Results from Sept. 8
The Northwestern boys and girls cross country teams picked up Colonial League sweeps on Wednesday afternoon.

N. Lehigh-Palmerton- Northwestern-NDGP-
Pen Argyl-Bangor
The Northwestern boys and girls posted impressive wins in Colonial League action in Bangor.
Both Tigers’ programs posted 5-0 marks on opening day, while the Palmerton boys went 4-1.
Sam Bower led the way for the Tigers, as he posted a first-place finish in the boys’ meet, while teammates Cole Chukoskie and Nate Vincent finished second and third, respectively.
Angelica Klein, Emily Fagan and Maci Fischer led the Lady Tigers to a perfect mark, thanks to the NW trio finishing second, third and fourth, respectively.
Natalie Mosier paced the Bombers with a program best fifth-place finish, while Emily Moyer notched a Bulldogs’ best with an 11th-place finish.
Owen Hibell led the Bombers with a sixth-place finish, while Bryce Marino just missed a top-10 finish in 11th place.
Jared Thomason recorded a Bulldogs’ best with a 16th-place finish.

The Tamaqua boys went 2-1 in a Schuylkill League meet in Pottsville.
Meanwhile, the Lady Raiders finished with a 1-2 mark on the day.
Jesse Gormley and Tony Marchetti paced the Blue Raiders with top-10 finishes, as they finished eighth and ninth, respectively.
Grace Stegemerten recorded a Lady Raiders’ best with a fourth-place finish.

Albin Petschauer’s victory highlighted a strong showing for Marian in a Schuylkill League meet.
Petschauer won the boys race in 20:03 for the Colts, who topped Gillingham Charter 15-40 and Nativity 25-30. Alex Porambo (21:26) also had a top-five finish for Marian, which fell to host Tri Valley 25-31.
The Fillies also went 2-1, and were led by Grace Curnow’s runner-up finish in 24:33. Marian knocked off Nativity (19-36) and Gillingham Charter (16-39), but fell to Tri Valley (24-33). Isa Genao (26:02) also recorded a top-five finish for the Fillies, placing fourth.

Ridge Snyder and Ryan Bailor ran to a 1-2 finish as Jim Thorpe put in an impressive performance in a Schuylkill League meet.
Snyder crossed the line in 18:34, while Bailor finished in 18:45 for the Olympians, who went 2-1. Jim Thorpe posted wins over Lehighton (26-30) and Pine Grove (19-41), but fell to Blue Mountain (28-31).
Owen Serfass was sixth for the Indians, who went 1-2, defeating Pine Grove (20-40).
Kaitlynn Bos (23:02) was second in the girls meet for the Olympians, while Megan Rosahac placed fifth. The Thorpe girls went 2-1, topping Lehighton (18-40) and Pine Grove (19-44) but falling to Blue Mountain (25-30).
Katie Wojton was Lehighton’s best finisher, crossing the line in eighth. The Tribe went also went 1-2 in the girls meet.
