Several people were injured, one seriously in a crash Saturday night in West Penn Township.

The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. along Route 309 in front of Knepper’s Inn. Reports from the scene were the driver of a pickup backed out onto the highway and was struck by a southbound car. The force of the impact spun the pickup around.

The car came to rest along the northbound berm.

One of the injured was flown to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center. West Penn township police are investigating the incident.
