Elicia (Sheckler) Stein, a 1997 graduate of Lehighton Area High School, was recently selected to present at a national conference held by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.

In July, she presented her research and information on the topic of “COVID-19’s Impact on Mental Health, Suicide and Violence Rates.” The conference was originally slated to be held in Washington, D.C., but moved virtual.

She was also selected to present on this topic at Drexel University’s Forensic Rights and Treatment Conference in December 2020.

Dr. Stein is currently working as a chief psychologist and psychology manager at a correctional facility near Harrisburg.
