State Police - crashes
• State police at Lehighton investigated a two-vehicle crash at 8:31 a.m. on Aug. 18 along Mountain Road in Ross Township, Monroe County.
Troopers said Patrick R. Stein, 43, of Slatington, was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram truck westbound and negotiating a right curve while Lois J. Scott, 88, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2010 Toyota Yaris eastbound and negotiating a left curve. The driver’s side rear of Stein’s vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and struck the driver’s side front door of the Yaris.
Scott sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken to a hospital by West End ambulance. Stein was not injured.
Both vehicles had to be towed.
Stein was cited for the crash.
• State police at Fern Ridge investigated a Monroe County crash on Aug. 2 at 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of Cays Road and Route 715 in Jackson Township.
Troopers said Johnny Jones, 59, of Blakeslee, was driving a 2012 Volvo T5 northbound while Kayla C. Barnett, 22, of Stroudsburg, was southbound driving a 2015 Nissan Sentra, on Cays Road. Troopers said Jones failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection, proceeding into the intersection and having his vehicle collide with Barnett’s vehicle.
No one was injured. The Nissan had to be towed.
Jones was cited for a stop sign violation.
• State police at Stroudsburg reported investigating a two-vehicle crash at 1:14 a.m. on Aug. 21 along Interstate 380 in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County.
Troopers said Desirae D. Devore, 32, of Tobyhanna, was driving a 2020 Ford Fusion, and Rosa V. Lie, 55, of Richmond Hill, New York, driving a 2018 Toyota Sienna, were both southbound when the front of the Ford struck the rear of the Toyota. The impact caused the Toyota to spin across the left southbound lane and into the grass median.
Both drivers refused medical treatment. Both vehicles had to be towed.
Devore was cited for the crash.
