The passenger of a motorcycle involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer rig was killed Tuesday in Lehigh County.

Upper Macungie Township police said the crash occurred at 11:10 p.m. on Trexlertown Road.

According to police an International Harvester tractor-trailer was southbound driven by a 39-year-old man from Andreas, and attempted to turn into a private driveway. The rig was struck from behind by a 2006 Harley-Davidson bike operated by a 54-year-old man from Catasauqua. A passenger on the bike was identified by the county coroner as Kerri Sodl, 49, of Trexlertown. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The bike operator was injured and the rig driver was not.

The names of the two drivers were not immediately released by police.
