Nathan Allen Boyer, 30, of Kutztown Road, in Kutztown, has been charged with strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.

On Aug. 1 at 3:26 p.m. Tamaqua police were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Broad Street, for a report of a domestic incident. When police arrived a woman was coming out of the building and told officers that her “ex”, Boyer, had been staying with her for months, and he attacked her. She said he put both his hands around her throat and applied pressure. She had visible bruise marks around her neck, police said.

Boyer left the residence prior to the arrival of officers and apparently was headed towards Berks County. She said that Boyer told her to cut her wrists, to kill herself and he was going to put a bullet in her head.
