Schuylkill courthouse requiring masks

Schuylkill County will require visitors and employees to wear masks because of heightened COVID in the county.

“The County of Schuylkill considers the health and safety of our employees, visitors, and their families a top priority,” a release from Heidi Zula, human resources director.

“Due to the recent substantial spread of the coronavirus locally,” Schuylkill County employees and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask when inside county facilities beginning Tuesday.

The release says current procedures for testing and quarantine requirements for people who have been exposed to the coronavirus or were exposed to someone who is experiencing symptoms of the virus.

“The county encourages everyone to take necessary steps to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus to include getting a COVID vaccination. The county will continue to monitor the levels of community transmission of the coronavirus and take necessary steps to protect the health and safety of our employees, visitors, and their families.”
