The Weatherly Area School Board Wesdneday night approved the resignation of Teresa L. Young as superintendent, effective Nov. 7.
Young has been hired to be superintendent of the Keystone School District in Knox Borough, about 7 miles west of Clarion in Clarion County. Young, who was present at the meeting, explained that she was “moving closer to home.”

For Weatherly Area, Young was hired to be superintendent in March of 2017 after a three-month-long search. She was chosen from among 11 applicants. She replaced Thomas McLaughlin, who had left to become the human resources director at the Palmerton Area School District.
Young came to lead the Weatherly Area School District after working in the Harmony Area School District, near La Jose, Pennsylvania, for 19 years. In early November, she will return to western Pennsylvania, to be closer to her family.
