State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following incident.

A 52-year-old Albrightsville woman reported she answered an advertisement for a rental property on Facebook Marketplace. The property was in Nuremberg, Schuylkill County.

Potential renters were instructed to call a certain number. The victim completed the online application supplying her date of birth, Social Security number and photograph from her driver’s license. It was determined that the advertisement was a scam.

The incident occurred on July 31 and reported Aug. 2. Troopers said a check revealed the property in question is rented by Hudson Homes Management, who has a different phone number.
