Department of Health announces additional free COVID-19 testing in Lehigh County

The Department of Health announced a COVID-19 testing site in Lehigh County is opening to the public. The site is available through a partnership with AMI Expeditionary Healthcare.

Testing is available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, through Aug. 13 at Lehigh Carbon Community College, 4525 Education Drive, Schnecksville. Use the Orchard Road at the Sand Spring and Route 309 intersection when getting to Berrier Hall. Testing will be in the L parking lot adjacent to Berrier Hall. This is both a walk-up and drive-thru site.

The AMI testing sites are open to anyone who feels they need a test. It is important that even people with no symptoms and who have tested positive isolate in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Up to 450 people can be tested per day. Midnasal passage swab PCR tests will be performed. Testing is on a first-come, first-served basis and is free. No appointment is necessary. Testing is open to people from any county who are ages 3 and older. The turnaround time for testing results is one to three days after testing.

Individuals who are tested should self-quarantine while they await their test results. Others living in the home with the individual awaiting test results should also stay at home. Individuals who test positive will receive a phone call from AMI while individuals who test negative will receive a secured-PDF emailed to them from AMI.

All Pennsylvanians age 12 and older are eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Use Vaccine Finder to find a COVID-19 vaccine provider near you.

Text your Zip code to GETVAX (438829) for English, or VACUNA (822862) for Spanish and receive three possible COVID vaccination sites in your area, with phone numbers to call for an appointment.
