Fire companies from three counties battled a dwelling fire Wednesday evening in Aquashicola.

The fire was reported just after 6 p.m. as a kitchen fire in the 3800 block of Forest Inn road literally to the rear of the Aquashicola fire company.

When firefighters arrived on scene they found the home fully involved in flames. The family did manage to escape the inferno.

Fire companies from Carbon, Monroe and Lehigh counties responded.
