July 17, 1998 - Jared Schnell blasts two home runs to help Franklin Township gain a 5-3 victory over the Hazleton Americans in the District 18 11-12 Little League tournament. Schnell connects for a solo homer in the third inning, and drills a two-run shot in the fifth that snaps a tie game and produces the winning runs. FT, coached by George Zellers, also receives solo homers from Todd Remaley and Ricky Strohl. Remaley, who finishes the game with a pair of hits, earns the pitching win in relief. He strikes out seven in 2 2/3 innings of work.
