The Carbon County commissioners, meeting with Controller Allen Kistler as a salary board, today fixed the rate of pay to be received by Howard Miller, Summit Hill, at $1.80 an hour with his temporary appointment as a foreman of the county’s bridge repair force.

Miller serves regularly as a member of the county’s work gang at $1.60, his appointment as a temporary foreman having been made necessary by the fact that the county now has two crews of workers engaged in making repairs to county-owned bridges.

The regular gang foreman is Peter Porambo of Summit Hill, who will head one of the crews while Miller took charge of the second force, effective July 11.
