Schuylkill County Commissioners Wednesday approved contracts with two companies for work at the Schuylkill County Prison.
Three of the contracts were with McClure Co., Wilkes-Barre, while the other was with Mechanical Service Co., Pittston.
McClure was awarded a contract for $22,394 to install a new expansion tank on a domestic hot water piping system, installing three control valves for baseboard heat in the administrative area for $8,765, and for direct digital control monitoring of a domestic hot water heater for $2,594.
Mechanical Service Co. will install a 1,000-gallon double wall skid tank and provide direct digital control for it and an older one. The price is $35,396.
Schuylkill County Commissioners’ Chairman Barron “Boots” Hetherington said the tank supplies fuel for the emergency backup generator.
Terms of each contract differ.
How the projects will be paid was not disclosed.
