NY man charged in Monroe

A New York state man was arrested following an incident at a Monroe County resort.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on June 28 at 11:13 p.m., they were dispatched to the Kalahari Resorts in Tobyhanna Township, for a report of a fight at the front entrance of the resort. Resort security requested the assistance of police, because of two men fighting and a report that one man had a knife.

It was later reported the man with the knife was detained by security and that knife was identified as a butter knife. Also, while en route to the scene, police received a report from the county control center that multiple reports were received of a shooting in the parking lot and that a member of the security staff had been shot.

On scene, it was determined that the reports of shots fired and a security guard shot were false. No firearms were displayed or fired during the incident, police said, and no one suffered any gunshot wounds.

Tahsean N. Sardo, 30, of Wyandanch, was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was arraigned before a district judge and released after posting $5,000 bail.
