A New York state man died in a sky-diving accident on Monday.

State police at Stroudsburg identified the victim as Frank Kancso, 35, of Staten Island.

According to troopers at 2:30 p.m. they were dispatched to the Sky’s The Limit Skydiving Center, 124 Airstrip Road, in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, for a skydiving accident.

On scene troopers found Kancso unresponsive on the ground at the landing area. A Bushkill EMS unit arrived on scene and began immediate medical care. He was then taken to a nearby landing area and flown by a medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead with traumatic injuries.

Troopers said Kancso was reported to have been an experienced skydiver with thousands of prior jumps. The Federal Aviation Administration and the Monroe County district attorney’s office were notified of the incident.
