Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) with Pastor Rob Timlin will hold one combined service on Sunday at 11 a.m. Sunday school for all ages will be a 9:45 a.m.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is “Prayer & Praise.” To learn more about Faith Alive, go to their website or call the office at 610-852-2805.

JUCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) will hold Sunday worship service at 9 a.m. Weather permitting, services will be held in the church grove. Bring your lawn chair. Supply Pastor Don Quayle will lead the worship.

Lions Club bingo

The Palmerton Lions Club hosts bingo every Friday night at the Palmerton Sokol Hall, 452 Lehigh Ave., Palmerton. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. Various packages and games are available. Food is also available for purchase. Call 610-360-5523 for information.

BWC Summer Fun Series

Bethany Wesleyan Church is hosting a Summer Fun Series on Fridays, July 16 and Aug. 6, from 2-4 p.m. in the Palmerton Borough Park. This event is free and for kids ages 3 years to fifth grade. What to expect includes a relevant Bible lesson, fun crafts, cool science experiments, snacks and games. The rain location is the church at 457 Delaware Ave.

Memorial Park Pool

June 27 is Fun Day at the Palmerton pool. Lucky Penny find for ages 0-18, Lucky Duck Hunt for ages 0-5, Foul Shooting contest for ages 6-18, lucky-lolli for everyone, and a Duck Race for adults. A child’s membership, good for this year or next, will be raffled off with all children in attendance being eligible. Activities start around 2 p.m. and the drawing will be at 4:45 p.m. Daily admission will be reduced.

Palmerton Booster Club

Palmerton Booster Club Youth Football & Cheerleading sign-ups will be held Sunday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Seventh Street Field for in-person registration. For information please visit on Facebook at htts://www.facebook.com/PalmertonBoosterClub.

Cub Scout Pack 209

Cub Scout Pack 209 of Towamensing Township is planning its first summer activity. Join the Troop on a trip to a fish hatchery. Come join the boys as they enjoy feeding the fish while learning how the hatchery works.

They will be going to Lil’-Le-Hi Trout Nursery, 2901 Fish Hatchery Road, Allentown on Sunday from 2-4 p.m.

The Pack will provide the first bag of fish food and snacks for the boys. Wear sturdy shoes and don’t forget sunscreen. For questions or comments go on Facebook-Cub Scout Pack 209-Towamensing.

Palmerton Library

The Palmerton Area Library, Delaware Avenue, announces its summer reading program. The programs begin July 5 and registration is required. This is a free four-week program with children through adults. “Tails and Tales” explores the world of animals, creatures and tall tales.

The program choices are:

Online: log reading, complete missions and unlock story videos and mini games through ReadSquare website or app. For toddlers through age 12.

Offline: Complete the take home paper “Tails and Tales” activity trail featuring reading challenges, fun activities and learning inspiration. For toddlers through adults.

Just for Teens: Weekly contests, challenges, and reading suggestions on the teen Instagram page @palmertonlibraryteens. Teens who register will also create a personalized discbound journal - all materials included. For ages 13 to 18.

All those who complete the program will receive a free book and be entered into a prize raffle.

Palmerton Food Pantry

The CACPAC sponsored Palmerton Food Pantry will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton, this Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The pantry supports residents of the Palmerton Area School District only and you will need to show proof of residency and answer questions regarding your income.

This is a drive-thru event, so please remain in your vehicle and follow instructions given by volunteers. If you are unable to attend, someone may pick up for you.

The pantry is always in need of nonperishable food items, paper, and personal care items. Donations may be dropped off at 459 Lafayette Ave, or 1002 Third St., Palmerton. Boxes are on the front porches for donations. Local churches are collecting on a regular basis.
