Jim Thorpe scored two seventh-inning runs Saturday to pull out a 9-8 Lehigh Valley Connie Mack league victory over Stroudsburg.
Trailing by a run, Owen Hubbard reached base on an error and scored the tying run on a single by Nikolas Schwartz. After a walk and a wild pitch, Rich Strack delivered a sacrifice fly to plate the go-ahead run.
Reliever Evan Murphy ran into a little trouble in the home seventh as Stroudsburg put runners on first and third with only one out. Thorpe, however, turned a double play to end the threat and gain the win.
Hubbard had two hits, a run and an RBI for Jim Thorpe (6-4), while Strack walked three times and scored three runs. Andrew Bosi chipped in with a double and a run scored.

Palmerton-Becahi
After Palmerton took a lead in the top of the seventh inning Saturday, Becahi rallied for three runs in the bottom half to gain a 5-4 Lehigh Valley League walk-off win.
A two-run double by McNally tied the game at 4-4. McNally later raced home on a passed ball to produce the victory.
The Bombers had broken a 2-2 tie in the top of the frame when Kaleb Eitner’s double drove in Trevor Stroup and Daniel Lucykanish.
Eitner finished with two hits in the contest, while Nate Stroup added a pair of hits and a run scored.
Luke Netznik pitched well for Palmerton (7-4), allowing five hits and no earned runs while striking out three in six innings of work.

Aidan Clauser had three hits and scored two runs to help Schuylkill Haven register a 14-4 victory over Valley Athletic.
The winners also received a pair of hits and two runs from both Daeson Hasenhaur and Brayden Matukewicz.
For Valley Athletic (2-5), Chase Andrews collected three hits and a run while Gianni Valentine finished with a pair of hits. Tim Fritzinger also scored a pair of runs.

Kemp-Birches
Birches used a 15-run inning to rally for a 16-6 Northampton County Legion victory over Kemp.
The winners benefitted from some wildness by Kemp’s pitchers, as the contest featured 11 walks and nine hit batters.
Andrew Meitzler had a double for the winners, who trailed 6-1 before scoring 15 times in the home fifth.
Ryan Kymer tossed all five inning to earn the pitching victory.

Four former Times News area players helped the Northern Yankees gain a 5-1 Blue Mountain League victory over the Bandits on Sunday.
Northwestern graduate Tyler Schreiner had three hits, one a triple, and two RBIs to power the Yankees’ offense. Lehighton grad Jacen Nalesnik added a pair of hits and two runs, while former Tigers standout Derek Holmes contributed a double, run scored, and RBI.
The winners, now 4-6, also received three walks and a run from Northwestern grad Jake Haas.
