Local Roundup: Results from June 12-13
The Berlinsville Braves and Jim Thorpe both picked up wins in weekend baseball action.
Berlinsville edged Hellertown in a Blue Mountain League contest, while Thorpe downed Emmaus in Lehigh Valley Connie Mack action.

Berlinsville-Hellertown
The Berlinsville Braves pushed across two runs in the eighth inning Sunday to snap a tie and earn a 4-2 Blue Mountain League victory over the Hellertown Royals.
Northwestern graduate Jake Augustus had a hit and a walk, and raced home with the tie-breaking run in the eighth on Kyle Friebolin’s base hit.
Cody Krupa, a Northern Lehigh grad, hit a home run earlier in the contest and added an insurance run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly.
Another Nolehi alum, Zach Palansky, gained the pitching win. Palansky tossed all eight innings, allowing juts three hits, one walk and two unearned runs.
The winners also received a pair of hits from JD Greeley and Matt Mellinger.
For the Royals, Pleasant Valley grad Dan Borden had one of his team’s three hits.

Emmaus-Jim Thorpe
Chip Baldassano had two hits, scored two runs and knocked in a pair to lead Jim Thorpe to a 10-6 Lehigh Valley Connie Mack victory over Emmaus.
The winners jumped out to a 5-1 advantage after three innings before using a five-run sixth inning to help secure the decision.
Nikolas Schwartz added a hit, a run and two RBIs, while Ian Heckles contributed a hit, an RBI and two runs scored.
Rich Strack, who knocked in a pair of runs, earned the pitching win, allowing two earned runs and five hits in five innings.
Thorpe (3-3) also received a hit, run and RBI from Matthew Domski.
