Sacred Heart news
Sacred Heart Parish, Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, will celebrate our Saturday Vigil Mass, June 12 at 5 p.m., and Sunday Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. June 13. Please note: Seating restrictions have been lifted. Masks are only required of those who are not fully vaccinated.
“Fully vaccinated” is defined as being two weeks after receiving the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Confessions continue to be available by appointment only. Please call Father Bill to schedule a time.
This weekend liturgy is from the 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Gospel tells us the kingdom is like a mustard seed which springs up to be the largest of plants. As we walk by faith and not by sight, may our lives bear fruit in abundance.
The parish staff will meet Wednesday at 1 p.m. for their monthly meeting.
Parishioners who would wish to use parish facilities for events between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022, must submit a written request indicating dates and times for approval to Father Bill. Approved requests will be placed on the master calendar in the rectory office.
The “Because We Are Catholic Campaign,” (formerly Bishop’s Appeal) is asking all families to contribute to the many good works and needs of our Allentown Diocese. We thank those who have made a sacrificial gift, however, many parish families have not responded yet. If possible, please consider responding in the upcoming weeks.
Next weekend, we will remember the living and deceased fathers of our parishioners at all weekend Masses. Father’s Day envelopes, with your intentions, will be placed on the St. Joseph Altar for of the month of June.
This past week St. John Neumann concluded their 2020-21 school year. Preregistration for next year enrollment is growing. Registrations are still being accepted for the 2021-22 school year. Please contact the school office to register at: 610-826-2354.
Father Bill continues to ask for prayers, through the intercession of Father Walter Ciszek whose cause for canonization to Sainthood is under study, that God will bless us with a cure for COVID-19 and restore the physical, spiritual, emotional and financial health to our global family.
