On April 29, Northampton Community College held its annual Student Awards Convocation Ceremony, an event where NCC bestows its top academic honors on students who have excelled during the past academic year.

Local students receiving awards include:

• Rebecca James, a general studies major from Effort, was named a member of the 2021 All Pennsylvania Academic Team and received the Nancy A. Taylor Endowed Scholarship.

• Ashley Rivera-Penson, a registered nursing major from Effort, received the Bethlehem Women’s Club Nursing Award.

• Keith Romano, an engineering major from Walnutport, received the Sandra Reis and George Jain-Cocks Endowed Mathematics Award.
