Faith Alive Church
Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 8:30 a.m. is a contemporary service and at 11 a.m. is the traditional service. In between the two services is Sunday school for all ages (children to adults) There are four options of worship: In the sanctuary, in Leah’s Room (masks required), in the parking lot (FM 104.3) or Faith Alive Facebook Live.

June 13: “Receiving New Members”
June 14: 7 p.m. “Church Council Meeting”
June 19: from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. “Ladies Luncheon” with worship, presentation, lunch and fellowship. Must sign up by June 13. Call the office for details
June 20: at 8:30 and 11 a.m. is “Dads & Grads Sunday”
June 21-25: VBS, Destination Dig for ages 4-12 years old. Dinner 4:45-5:45 p.m. and classes, crafts, singing and fun from 6-8:30 p.m. Call the office to sign up your child; all children welcome.

June 26: 6-8 p.m. Dorney Park Trip

June Mission of the Month: Care Net of Carbon County. This awesome organization is in our county to help many young people who don’t have positive role models or haven’t been taught life skills. They offer educational programs on pregnancy, fetal development, options associated with pregnancy, life skills, relationship issues and much more. They offer free pregnancy tests, baby clothing, baby furniture, diapers and formula.

Basket bash
St. John’s UCC, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, will hold a Basket Bash on June 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and June 6 from noon to 2 p.m.
Community meal
A free community meal will be held at St. John’s UCC, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, on June 8 from 4-6:30 p.m. The menu will be sausage, oven-browned potatoes and baked beans. All are welcome.
Breakfast
Parryville Volunteer Fire Co. #2, Main Street, Parryville will host a breakfast on Sunday from 8 a.m.-noon. Dine-in or takeout available. Platter choices include: eggs, pancakes, French toast or SOS. Choice of meat: ham, sausage, scrapple or bacon. Includes home fries, juice or coffee. They have large and small platters. For information, call 484-347-3928.
Borough council
A meeting of the Palmerton Borough Council will be held at 7 p.m. June 10 in Borough Hall Council Chambers, 443 Delaware Ave.
Fire company
The Towamensing Township Volunteer Fire Company, Trachsville, is accepting applications for all positions in the fire company from firefighter all the way to grounds maintenance. Please stop by any Monday to receive more information.
Raising the House
The eighth Annual Raising the House 5K run/walk will be held Saturday in the Palmerton Borough Park. The race will begin at 9 a.m. with race packet pickup beginning at 7:45 a.m. For information please visit www.raisingthehouse.org.
Palmerton Pool
The Palmerton Memorial Park Pool will open Saturday at noon. The pool is located at 1233 N. Third St., Palmerton.
Nonprofit yard sale
Kids for the Community will be holding a yard sale June 6 at 10 a.m. at 783 Princeton Ave., Palmerton. All clothing will be free to those in need within limit. All proceeds from the yard sale will be used for future kids events.
Historical society
The Palmerton Area Historical Society’s next program will be held June 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Little White Church, 911 Third St., Palmerton. Chris Maxwell will be the presenter and talk on Beekeeping & Honey Production. Bring your lawn chair and join the club on the lawn of the church.
Cornhole
A Cornhole Tournament hosted by the Lehighton Men’s Softball League will be held June 5 at the Palmerton Sokol Hall, 425 Lehigh Ave., Palmerton. Registration is from 11 a.m. to noon. For information contact Chris Ahner at 484-464-1712 via text or call.
