A Monroe County driver was injured one-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Coolbaugh Township.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Samuel Enrique Vasquez-Moreira, 32, of Long Pond, was driving a Toyota pickup on Route 940 when the vehicle went off the road and struck fuel pumps at C&C Performance.

The truck and the pumps caught fire. The fuel was immediately shut off by the owner.

The owners of a nearby car dealership and an off-duty Pocono Regional police officer ran to the aid of Vasquez-Moreira. They pulled him from the truck, which was consumed by the flames.

Vasquez-Moreira was flown to a trauma center. The fire was extinguished by volunteers of the Coolbaugh Township and Pocono Summit fire companies. Portions of Route 940 were shut down due to the crash.
