St. Jerome Regional School celebrates 100 years
Are you an alumni of St. Jerome Regional School?
Maybe you have a child attending there right now.
If so, the staff wants to hear your memories for the upcoming 100th year celebration of the school.
Principal Amy Hannis-Miskar is asking for anyone who has either attended the Catholic school, or staff who previously taught at the school, to share their memories, pictures and quotes about their time at St. Jerome.
The school began sharing some of the current and former students’ thoughts on its Facebook page on May 21, which was the 100th day before the start of the school’s 100th year, and hope to create a series of mini videos this summer to celebrate the milestone this upcoming August.
“St. Jerome is a very special place and has been for 100 years,” Hannis-Miskar said. “There’s a spirit here that brings us together as a school family. We are made up of exceptional students, parents, educators and staff working as one team to provide the best in Catholic education.
“We’ve transitioned a lot in the last few years, including moving to a new building, in order to accommodate for our growth in enrollment. But, we have made sure to keep all of our traditions that we love,” she added. “We continue to grow as a school, advance in technology and upgrade our curriculum, but it is truly the people here who make the difference.”
Hannis-Miskar said that many of the students and staff have described the school as “a second home” that they have grown in for years to become a close-knit family.
“It is a place where our students learn to love and where they love to learn,” she said.
As the school gathers the memories, photos and quotes, they hope to also plan some events during next school year.
