One person was injured Sunday afternoon in a crash in Mahoning Township. The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 443 and South Ninth. It appeared a westbound sport utility vehicle had stopped for the traffic light when it was struck from the rear by a car.

Mahoning Valley and Lehighton fire companies responded.

The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital. Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
