More than 300 people attended yesterday’s Senior Citizen Dance at Jim Thorpe’s Memorial Park, sponsored by the Carbon County Commissioners and the staged by the county’s Office on Aging.
The program was arranged by Mary Kobrick, activities aid; Sandy Schweibinz, secretary; and Edith Lukasevich, outreach worker.
Barbara Christopher of Summit Hill, who became the director of the Agency on March 1, addressed the seniors. Entertainment was provided by The Trip C Cords Orchestra and Franko The Disco Clown. Al Sword, Times News staffer, served as master of ceremonies.
Ethel Blose of Palmerton, 88, was recognized as the oldest person attending the event.
