Barron awarded ‘white coat’

Daylon Barron was awarded his “white coat” during a recent ceremony at Marywood University in Scranton. A member of the college’s class of 2022, Barron was one of 57 physician assistant students who were presented a white coat during the ceremony.

The white coat ceremony symbolizes an important transition in the life of a medical student, marking the student’s entrance into the health care profession. It signals the aspiring health care professional’s initiation into a commitment to the higher principles related to the practice of medicine. Students are then ready to embark on the highest quality of medical education as they begin working with physicians and pharmacists in clinical courses.

Barron is a 2017 Tamaqua area graduate and the son of Chad Barron and Katie Orlick.
