State police at Bethlehem report on incidents

State police at Bethlehem reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

• On May 4 at 1 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the Weis Market located off Route 873 in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, for a report of a retail theft. On scene officers were told by a loss prevention manager that Antonio Lupi, 73, of Slatington, had failed to ring up five items totaling $127.49 between April 22 and May 4.

Troopers said a citation was filed against Lupi charging him with retail theft.

• On May 9 at 9:39 a.m. troopers were dispatched to a residence along Center Road in Allen Township, Northampton County, for a report of a altercation between two men. On scene it was determined that John Romeo, 58, of Walnutport, came to the residence and struck a 58-year-old man from Easton, in the head with a closed fist. Romeo fled the scene prior to the arrival of troopers.

Troopers made contact with Romeo by phone and he admitted striking the victim. A citation was filed against Romeo charging him with harassment - physical contact.
