If you were not registered for Tuesday’s primary election, today is the first day you can register for the fall election.

Drive-in supper

Beginning at 5 p.m. today through 6 p.m., Zion Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, will host another drive-thru pickup community supper.

Eldred meeting

The Eldred Township Board of Supervisors will meet at 7 p.m. today at the municipal building on Kunkletown Road.

Meetings are held virtually and in person.

Men’s group meets

All men 18 and older of our Lady Queen of Peace Church are invited to the men’s group meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the pavilion for the group’s monthly meeting.

WELL open meeting

The West End Little League open meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Chestnuthill Township Park in Brodheadsville.

Orders accepted

West End Park and Open Space Commission’s big one-week virtual Facebook Pampered Chef fundraiser event began on Monday and will continue through Friday, with orders being accepted now and through May 23.

A portion of the proceeds will go to fund WEPOSC’s events.

Grief support

A virtual grief support group is being offered by the Cathedral of St. Peter Parish in Scranton.

Anyone is welcome. One does not have to be a member of the parish to participate.

The group will convene online on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The dates of the virtual meetings will be today and May 26.

Saturday dinner

The Effort United Methodist Church on Merwinsburg Road off Route 115 in Effort is having its semiannual chicken barbecue seasoned dinner from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday. It is takeout only. Those who ordered are reminded to pick up their meal/meals.

Indoor worship

Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville is worshipping indoors on Sundays at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Physical distancing and wearing masks are required.

Outdoor worship

Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran in Kresgeville will have a parking lot service with Holy Communion at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday. Virtual worship will also be available.

Room ready

The Polk Township Fire Company in Kresgeville has announced it has its freshly renovated hall/meeting room and grove available for rental. Call 610-681-4370 and press 1 when prompted to leave a message for Wendy.

Applications for membership are also being accepted. Stop in at the fire company location any Monday night to apply.

Scouting info

Trexler Scout Reservation, at 288 Camp Trexler Road in Kunkletown is hosting an information event about scouting and what it has to offer for youth ages 11 to 17 Saturday.

In addition to learning about scouting, from Scouts and unit leaders from all over Monroe County, the event concludes popcorn and a movie under the stars.

Masks and social distancing will be followed for this event.

Polk memorial

On May 30 at 2 p.m., the 25th annual Polk Township Memorial Day program will take place at the Veterans Memorial and Adam’s Faith Garden in Kresgeville.

Memorial Day event

American Legion Post 927 will host a Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m. May 31.

The event is open to the public, but indoor guests are limited to 60 guests.

CDC guidelines will be followed inside and outside. A light lunch will follow the outdoor portion of the event.

Polk meeting

Polk Township Supervisors will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the township’s municipal building in Kresgeville.

Vaccination time

The Pleasant Valley School District is partnering with St. Luke’s in offering the Pfizer vaccine for all students ages 12 and up, as well as their parents and guardians on June 1 at the middle school from 3 to 7 p.m. Interested families are asked to contact the nurse at the respective child’s school to schedule an appointment time.

The follow-up second dose is currently scheduled for June 22.
