Hoffman has strong season at Fairfield

Northern Lehigh graduate Kaitlin Hoffman recently concluded another strong season at Fairfield University.

Hoffman, a junior outfielder for the Stags, was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Second Team all-star squad.

The former Bulldog played in 36 games (starting 34 of them) and collected 31 hits in 92 at-bats for a .337 batting average. She scored 17 runs, knocked in 19 and stole 11 bases. Ten of her hits went for extra bases, finishing with six doubles, two triples and two homers. She led the team in both slugging percentage (.511) and on-base percentage (.430). In addition to her offensive numbers, she didn’t commit an error in 62 chances in the field.

Fairfield, located in Connecticut, finished the regular season 20-12 and reached the MAAC playoffs. The Stags opened the tournament with a sweep of Siena in the quarterfinals but dropped games in the double-elimination round to Manhattan and Canisius.
