I am writing regarding Barbara Bowes’ candidacy for the position of Lehighton School Area District school director.

I have known and been Barb Bowes’ friend for 20 years. We have worked on numerous projects, raising money, and caring for dogs in the East Pennsylvania Great Pyrenees Dog rescue. I have had the privilege of working beside her, participating in events, activities and serving alongside her on the board for the Penn Dutch Great Pyrenees Dog Club. In conjunction with her other activities and her work, she commits her whole heart into her projects and is a dedicated, hard worker, giving over 100%.

She is very passionate on her projects. She has been very involved the past several years with attending the Lehighton Area school board meetings and the elections for the Lehighton Area School District School Board. She has grandchildren and that has made her even more aware of the lack of funding for school education projects and mishandling of tax dollars.

I fully support her for her run for school director for Lehighton Area School District. I helped her in her last campaign when she went house to house to meet the voters and discuss the issues with the current problems and school funding prior to the pandemic. This past year has shown us all how important good teachers and education are for our children and our communities.

In contact with the public through her job she comes across as approachable and willing to help. She handles situations with grace and dignity, maintains control and stays calm. She looks for solutions to the problems and stays upbeat with an optimistic outlook.
