Local roundup: Results from April 29
Northwestern’s boys and girls lacrosse teams fell to Central Catholic on Thursday.
BOYS LACROSSE
ACC-Northwestern
Allentown Central Catholic defeated Northwestern, 15-5.
Drew Sabo paced the Tigers (5-8) with two goals and an assist, while Blaine Snyder chipped in with a goal and three assists. Kane Flickinger and Cade Christopher both added single scores.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Northwestern-ACC
Allentown Central Catholic doubled up Northwestern, 12-6.
Ava Collins sparked the Tigers (3-8) with four goals, while Claire Costa added a goal and an assist. Sarah Schultz posted a single score, while Bailey Scheffler had an assist.
Tigers’ goalkeeper Gabrielle Gober finished with nine saves.
SOFTBALL
Northern Lehigh-NDES
Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg rallied for a 12-8 nonleague win over Northern Lehigh.
Cadence Peters had a triple, a home run and five RBIs for the Bulldogs, who had leads of 3-0 and 7-6 in the game.
Also playing well for Northern Lehigh (4-8) were Emma Smith (three singles, two runs scored); Julia Wanamaker (double, three runs scored); Jordan Hemingway (solo home run, single, two RBIs); and Kaitlyn Stock (two singles, RBI).

The Indians’ Aaron Miller earned a win at No. 1 singles, while the duo of Zach Wilusz and Kendyl Fitcher rallied for a 3-6, 7-5, 12-10 (super tiebreaker) win in No. 2 doubles.

Marian and Mahanoy Area earned a split on Wednesday.
The Colts (6-0) posted a 106-40 win in the boys meet, while the Golden Bears gained a 78-63 victory in the girls meet.
Michael Fellin (100, 200), Gavin Vercusky (800, 1600) and Benjamin Artz (discus, javelin) had multiple firsts for the Colts.
Ashley Pleban won the 100 hurdles and the shot put for the Fillies (4-2).
